After two years of virtual graduations, Swiss International School Dubai (SISD) is now celebrating its first actual in-person graduation. The occasion happened on May 24. The third graduating class from the Al Jadaf school, which began six years ago, will be honored as they leave for college.
Although this is our third year of graduating classes, Ruth Burke, Principal, and CEO, explains: “This year is a huge one for us with family and our school community meeting on-site to celebrate the accomplishments of our class of 2022! We are all happy to be able to provide the Class of 2022 with a unique, spectacular celebration on this day that will live long in the memory. We are also ecstatic to have all of our parents back on campus.
As they continue their studies at some of the best colleges in the world, we wish the Class of 2022 “bonne chance.” The opportunity to receive parents on-site alongside children and staff is a crucial turning point in the school’s adjustment to a new normal following the pandemic. Since some of the school boarders’ parents haven’t visited the school or the boarding residences in two years, this is a particularly important occasion for them.
In addition to completing one of the most difficult curricula in the world under the unusual pandemic conditions, the current class of Grade 12 graduates has been offered admission to prestigious universities in the US, UK, Canada, and Europe. This is cause for celebration.
