This weekend, major regional and worldwide singers and performers will headline a variety of music performances at Dubai Expo 2020.

Beginning on Friday, October 22nd, British singer-songwriter Sami Yusuf will perform his performance ‘Beyond the Stars’ at Al Wasl Plaza for two nights.

Yusuf is leading a group of musicians from all over the world in a special presentation inspired by Expo, the UAE’s heritage, and the Silk Road.

Guo Gan, maestro of the erhu, a traditional two-stringed Chinese instrument, and Indian sitarist Asad Khan, as well as Moroccan singer Nablya Maan and Azerbaijani vocalist Teyyar Bayramov, will perform new work during the event.

On Saturday, October 23, the all-female Firdaus Orchestra of Expo 2020 plays a spectacular space-themed repertoire that includes Western classical music and an unique piece by Oscar-winning composer A.R. Rahman.

The orchestra, which performs in Jubilee Park, features musical talent from around the Arab globe, with 50 women from 23 different nations. Their show starts at 7:00 p.m.

The Expo, which is the first of its kind in the Middle East, began on October 1 and is anticipated to attract more than 25 million visitors over the course of the six-month event.
